How to Reach Lumbarda (Korčula Island)
By Air:
Fly into Dubrovnik or Split International Airport (Dubrovnik is the best option). From there, take a catamaran to Korčula town port (passenger-only). Upon arrival at the port, we can arrange a taxi for a 10-minute ride to your apartment (around 20 EUR).
Catamaran Schedules:
By Car:
Option 1: Drive to Split and take a 2.5-hour car ferry to Vela Luka on Korčula Island, followed by a 45-minute drive to Lumbarda. Book your ferry in advance and notify your host upon boarding.
Option 2: Drive past Split to Ploče, take a ferry to Trpanj (Pelješac Peninsula), then drive 25 minutes to Orebić and catch a short ferry to Korčula (Dominče port). Lumbarda is just 5 km away.
Option 3: Take the Pelješac Bridge from Komarna, drive 45 minutes to Orebić, and take a ferry to Korčula (Dominče). Lumbarda is a quick 5 km drive from the port.
Final Directions:
Once on Korčula, follow the signs for Lumbarda (5 km from the port). Upon reaching the "Y" crossroad near the Konzum shop, turn left towards the port. Drive 150 m, and you’ll see garbage bins on your right with stairs leading to The Dreamers' Club. Parking is available by the house, and your host will be there to welcome you.
Your host will register you upon arrival (a standard procedure in Croatia). Feel free to ask about homemade olive oil, Dalmatian wine, or fresh fish for an authentic local experience!

ISLAND KORCULA
Korčula, located in Middle Dalmatia, spans 270 km² (46.5 km long and 5-8 km wide). The distance between Vela Luka on one end and Korčula Town on the other one is 55 km.
1. Nearest Swimming Spot (Just below the house):
Pebble Beach – Prvi Zal Beach Bar (60 m from the apartments)
Google Maps Link
2. Sandy Beaches (1 km away):
3. Žitna Bay (Zavalatica)
Google Maps Link
This serene location features crystal-clear waters and a tranquil atmosphere. While it requires a short hike to access (less than 1 min), the reward is well worth the effort. It’s a 30-minute drive from Korčula Town, and parking is available uphill.
4. Pupnat Bay (Pupnatska Luka)
Google Maps Link
For a scenic and secluded experience, take a 30-minute drive to Pupnat Bay. This charming bay has a beautiful pebble beach and a typical Dalmatian restaurant. Since there is no shade, bring a sunshade. For the best experience, visit early in the morning when the colors of the sea are most vibrant and there are fewer visitors.
5. Bačva Bay (Plaža Bačva)
Google Maps Link
Located just 25 minutes from your apartment, Bačva Bay features small white pebbles warmed by the sun, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing day by the sea. The journey to get there can be a bit daunting, with a winding serpentine road (not for the faint of heart!), but the stunning view at the destination is well worth the trip.
6. Korčula Town (10-minute drive or bike ride):
Korčula Town, known as "little Dubrovnik," is famous for its medieval Old Town, stunning architecture, and rich history. A highlight is the Moreska sword dance games, held in the amphitheater under the stars. After the show, enjoy a cocktail at Massimo, located in a tower within the city walls (note: a wooden ladder is required to access it). Complete your visit with a delicious seafood dinner at one of the town’s recommended restaurants (see further details below).
7. Vela Luka fisherman's town (45 minutes from Korčula Town):
8. Proizd Island (Magical turquoise pebble beaches)
Google Maps Link
Take the Muro boat, which departs three times a day (9 am, 10 am, 11 am), for a 40-minute ride to Proizd Island, known for its pristine beaches. While there is a older restaurant serving basic dishes, it’s recommended to bring a sunshade and your own snacks. The island has four beaches, with the last one on the left being the most beautiful and also a nudist beach.
9. Boat Rentals from Lumbarda (ask your host for Speed boat experience!):
Rent a small fisherman's boat (4-5 HP) for €75/day without a license. Larger boats (50-100 HP) require a valid boat license and cost between €220-280/day. Ask your host to recommend and organise it for you. Be mindful of the afternoon mistral wind, which can be strong. You can also ask your host Tanya for a weather forecast and renting the boat.
10. Kocje Nature Park (10 minutes drive from Lumbarda)
Google Maps Link
Kocje Nature Park, located near Zrnovo village, offers a unique natural environment, featuring stone mazes and lush greenery. The park is overgrown with moss and ivy vines, creating a magical ambiance. The walk also provides stunning views of the sea.
11. Island Hopping Activity
Take a water taxi from Prvi Zal Beach in Lumbarda to visit three nearby islands:
12. Wine Tasting in Lumbarda (Walking distance, 10-15 min):
These wineries offer an exceptional experience, with breathtaking views and passionate hosts who will share their knowledge of local wines.
13. Olive Oil & Honey Tasting (Near Korčula Town):
OPG Komparak Google Maps Link
Visit this family-owned agrotourism farm to taste high-quality olive oil, honey, and wine, all produced sustainably. The farm is set in a tranquil location among olive groves and vineyards, offering a perfect escape to experience Korčula's natural beauty.
My favourite 1-day trip to get to know the Island:

Explore the Folk Museum and Etno House Barilo, a folk and ethnographic collection in Blato, showcasing artifacts from traditional peasant life in Korčula and the surrounding villages.
At the end, finish the day trip to one of the Michelin recommended restaurant:

Wishing you a sunny holiday full of wonderful memories and adventures!
We have personally visited, tested and fallen in love with each of our house. Inclusion to our selection can’t be bought. At least one member of our team spent a few nights in all our villas, so we know every owner by its first name as well as the name of their children.
Our standards are very high. Over 70% of personally tested properties fail to make it into our selection!
We make you feel special: To us, you are not a number. We have deliberately decided to stay
“small” and boutique, to avoid mass tourism and rather concentrate on excellent customer
service.
Who will organize not only your holiday home and desired period, but also arrange for the boat rental, transfer, give you information of where the best restaurant in the city is, where the first hospital is and how to reach an island in combination with specific flight details.
What we tell you is 100% true. We hate making things look better. If you have small children and you want to make a reservation for a villa that has rocky beach in front of it, we will tell you that it is not ideal for the toddlers.
You are safe: We are always with you - before your holiday and during your journey and vacation you can reach us on a mobile number 24/7.
